- Getting started
- _______________
-
- To install CONTEXT, the text processing utility, simply place the
- two files CONTEXT.EXE and CONTEXT.HLP in a directory on your hard
- disk. If you have the self-extracting file CNTXT100.EXE, you have
- to CD to the directory where you want to place the program, and
- type A:CNTXT100 (the A: may be replaced by your specification).
- The required files will be automatically created.
-
- To invoke the program, just type CONTEXT (if the directory is in
- the current PATH), type its full name (d:path\CONTEXT) or use an
- alias or batch file.
-
- The indexing information is kept in LIBRARIES. You may have
- several libraries. CONTEXT remembers what library you currently
- use, and does not bother you with questions about them. However,
- for the first run no library exists, so the first question you
- face is to name a library. Just give an 8 (or less) characters
- name.
-
- The F1 key invokes context-sensitive hypertext help. It is
- advised to take a little excursion through the help messages to
- get oriented.
-
- Note: The files created by CONTEXT are placed in the directory of
- the program itself. Make sure that you are not short of space on
- this drive.
